Weiß jemand, wie die Backups funktionieren?
Insbesondere:

• was geschieht mit Dateien, die in der Quelle gelöscht werden? Werden die im Ziel (upload) auch gelöscht oder bleiben die ewig gespeichert?
• was geschieht, wenn im Ziel eine Datei erstellt oder geändert wird, wird die beim nächsten Upload ignoriert oder gar von der älteren Datei der Quelle überschrieben?
• wieviele Versionen einer Datei wird vorgehalten oder immer nur die letztgültige (was ja dann kein Backup wäre)?
• wie kann man das Backup wiederherstellen?

Ich finde dazu einfach keine Informationen bzw. Einstellmöglichkeiten.

ich hatte die Frage bewusst zum Cloud Backup Server gestellt (siehe Thema).
Was hat der Cloud Backup Server mit dem ASUSTOR Backup Plan zu tun?
Kann ich den ASUSTOR Backup Plan verwenden, um ein Backup des NAS auf einen Cloudspeicher einzurichten?
Klingt ja spannend.

Ich habe inzwischen von Curtis Hsu (ASUSTOR Service) eine Antwort bekommen. Hier die relevanten Antworten in Auszügen:
Cloud backup center is a one-way backup software with no version control or restore function.
It is only file level backup, file updates or deletions at the source will be reflected at the destination.
Are updates at the destination overwritten with older files from the source?
-> Yes, It is based on the source, and the same file, no matter how old or new it is, will always be the version from the source, and the target file will be overwritten in one time or scheduled backup. Therefore, it is important to use the source first.
Adds at the destination ignored and deletions at the destination added from the source?
->Yes.
S3 storage has an option: Keep Excess Files.
This means that if you add files to the destination in another way, they will not be affected by the backup task.
On the contrary, other backup methods, if there are other ways to add files to the destination, they will be deleted due to the backup task, to make sure the source and destination are identical.
